Why artists like music videos..!

1 - make 'em look good, styalizes the band
2 - brings visual element to the song
3 - promote the band
4 - ITS FUN !!!!!!1!
5 - get to work with awesome directors
6 - oppertunity to use narrative to exaggerate the meaning of the song
7 - allows band to do stuff that they cannot do on stage
8 - music video can be added to a live set
9 - product placement to help with funding

Slipknot : Wait and bleed

A bit heavy-er now.. Slipknot's video for "Wait and bleed" takes my fancy as is another music video which does stop-go-animation in an awesome if un-tastfull way.. including all the band members as they have their own look.. sort of slipknot : the brand !

Tool : Stinkfist

Tool are with out a dout my favorite band, as you can see, seeing as this is the second of their videos i've posted.. I like this one as, once again, is uses nice gradients over top and because the actual action makes it seem like a horror movie of which the scary bit never comes !

Porcupine Tree : Fear of the blank planet

This one i like due to the mix of footage which goes perfectly with the lyrics, and the performance footage on all the tv's in the background !

Muse : Stockholm syndrome

This i like due to the clever use of a infra-red camera to show their heat signitures all the way through.. gives you a whole new way seeing what's going on, a new perspective !

The White Stripes : Fell in love with a girl

I am not the greatest of White Stripes fan.. and the music is not the sort of stuff i would usually listen too, but this video, i think, is REALY well done, with the stop go animation of the lego making everything look pixilated !

Rammstien : Du hast

This video, i enjoy due to the music mostly.. and how when the lyrics match the action with the masked faces..

Tool : AEnema

I like this music video ue to the clever use of stop-go animation and water..
Also, how the grading over top is entierly blue, setting the mood..
